Is changing the themostat on a 1999 Ford Explorer difficult and where is it located?

Follow the upper radiator hose down to the engine. It is attachedto the thermostat housing . Therewill be two bolts attaching the housing to the engine. Remove thesebolts, and with a little effort (prying),the housing will come off. Therewill probably be brackets, wires,or other items which will have Tobe removed in order to get to the bolts.Installation is just the reverse, and be careful you don't get the bolts tootight.

themostat is located near radiator if urs is faulty try changing the switch that controls it first before u change it.the switch is connected to radiator ]it controls when the thermostat will come on and off
