Not exactly. Both are forms of concentrated milk in which roughly 60 percent of the water content has been removed. The difference lies in the sugar content; condensed milk is sweetened and evaporated milk is unsweetened. Condensed milk is thick and rich, often used in baking and as a sweetener in tea or coffee. Evaporated milk is used in recipes that call for a creamy texture but no added sweetness.
they are different. other than the difference in actual content, condensed milk tastes terrible, while evaporated milk tastes yummy. most especially when used as an ingredient. evap is frequently used as a cream for coffee, and is wonderful for that purpose.
No, it is not. Condensed milk is usually sweetened and used for baking. Evaporated milk is just reduced milk. It is not as thick as condensed milk.
sugar is very dense and condensed milk includes sugar so the chance of condensed milk is lower than milk
yes they both are not in my house
partly yes, because evapourated milk is sweeter and more likely to evaporate than condensed milk I think
Sweetie... have you evaporated yet?
No.
Not exactly, as condensed milk is much sweeter, and evaporated milk means that the milk is not in it's normal form, but if your were able to somehow create an invention that makes evaporated liquid that is in the air, turn back to just a liquid, you could what changes had been made. Can I used evaporated milk in a cheese cake instead of condensed milk will it taste the same ?
Condensed milk is just milk with alot of the water boiled (evaporated) out of it. Milk powder has had all the water taken out of it and if you put back only part of the water it will equal condensed milk. If you put back all of the water it will equal regular milk.
Is is a "tin" or "can" of milk that has been cooked with sugar so that the quantity has reduced down and thickened. This kind of milk is called "condensed milk". It is not the same as evaporated milk. Condensed milk is readily available at good supermarkets - same isle as rice puddings and evaporated milk normally.
agave nectar it will end up tasting the same and it will be healthier
NO! They are not the same and not interchangeable. Sweetened condensed milk: Cow's milk with sugar added, reduced by evaporation to a thick consistency. evaporated milk: Milk product with about 60% of the water removed from fresh milk
Evaporated milk and condensed milk are exactly the same thing. Note, however (read the label!) that sweetenedcondensed milk is a different product.
2/3 cup skim milk powder 1 cup water OR 1 cup dry whole milk 2/3 cup water. Mix well and use as directed in recipe. 2/3 cup evaporated milk = one 5 oz. Can. 1-1/2 cups evaporated milk = one 12 oz. can
yes, but you will have to use twice as much milk and reduce other liquids by as much as the extra milk. So a recipe calling for 1 can of evaporated milk and 1 cup water can be replaced with about 2 1/4 cups of milk. If you cannot reduce any liquids then try using 1 cup of milk with 1/2 cup powdered milk to replace 1 can evaporated milk.
Evaporated milk doesn't have any added sugar - that's condensed milk. Evaporated milk is just milk that's had most of the water removed (ie, evaporated out by heating). So, whilst it will taste sweeter than ordinary milk, it's because it's more 'concentrated', not because it's had any sugar added. When mixed with an equal amount of water, evaporated milk can be substituted for fresh milk in baking or other recipes.
You will change the flavor of the finished product, but the moisture content of any of them is about the same. Evaporated milk has a higher fat content, but not enough to throw off the recipe.
No, they add sugar to sweetened condensed milk, but condensed has been cooked down without added sugar.
A cup of water plus a cup of evaporated milk should do the same as two cups of milk.
evaporated milk is canned but canned milk can be different types of milk, condensed or whole milk for example. usually when a recipe calls for canned milk , it means evaporated milk.
