Nothing in The Bible says it is crucial to use the name "Yahweh" or even "Jehovah." Jewish custom, in fact, renders the name of God unpronouncable, in part because the name is not to be spoken - according to their tradition, that is considered blasphemy.

∙ 13y agoBoth names are correct, but it's more common to use the name Jehovah. As for the second part of your question, consider this: How can you say you know someone if you don't know or use their name? If you want to develop a close and personal relationship with someone, you have to know their name. Likewise, if you want to have a close relationship with god, you need to recognize and use his name- Jehovah.
