It is best to keep a refrigerator vertically upright at all times.
If you need to tip it on its side or back in order to move it, the best thing to do is to put it in place upright, then wait 24 hours before plugging it in.

The oil inside the compressor will flow into the system and will need to drain back into the compressor. If you have to lay it down, do so for as brief a period as possible. Oil inside the coil, evap and condenser are all bad for the system.
