Children's contacts with the law still primarily involve non-violent crimes and "status offenses"- In other words, no. It's really sad that in California children can abandon their families, but the minute a parent has had enough of their child misbehaving CPS is called on them. Additionally, the cops can not help the parents because of these laws that allow children to live on the streets. Apparently doing drugs, having sex for money and drinking (under 21) isn't a crime either.
