Doing a crummy job is easy enough, but doing a good job of it is quite hard. You'd need to disassemble it down to bare frame first, a challenge in itself.
On top of that, whatever paint you can apply at home is nowhere near as durable as the factory paint, so it will scuff, chip and flake easily.
