There's gotta be alot of hard work and studying involved. In Australia the time span is approx. 15-17 years of studying, residency and exam taking until your finally qaulified...THEN you get to star operating

Hard is a relative term. It requies a lot of work but if this is the career path which you are determined to attain then the work should not matter. To become a Neurosurgeon you have to first get a Bachelor's degree (avg. 4 years) and then medical school (4 years). Following medical school, you enter into a Neurosurgical residency. Neurosurgery has a longer residency lasting about 6-7years depending on the program. Neurosurgical residency is regarded as one of the more challenging residency program. Again, however, that is all relative.
