No. The US Supreme Court doesn't hold trials; they hear appeals. Sentences are imposed by the trial court.
A magistrate - is someone who presides over a criminal court. They hand down sentences to defendants who are brought before them. The sentences they give are restricted - and if they feel the defendant deserves a longer sentence, they can refer the case to the Crown court.
Execution, or capital punishment, as a form of punishment for a person who was convicted by a legitimate court has been used by most societies. Most countries have abolished it some have not.
