As you loose the weight, the skin will be loose for a while and the cellulite will look worse. As you continue to work out, the fat will continue to diminish and the skin will tighten up (provided that it isn't all stretched out of shape) and you'll look much better. Understand that the first stages of working out will mainly tone your muscles. Calories are burned MAINLY by the muscles, so as you continue to work out your muscles will start to burn more and THAT's what becomes the big help in loosing the weight as you continue. Remember that a well toned, moderately muscled body looks HOT!!! That's the image you're looking for. Don't get distracted by the temporary detours along the way.
