I use a prescription benzoyl peroxide gel called Triaz. I generally apply it to my face every night and have been using it for years to treat mild acne. I asked my doctor when I first began trying to get pregnant, and she said it was fine to continue using it. The literature that comes with the Triaz says to consult your doctor if you become pregnant (big help right?). I did some online research and found that problems in pregnancy have not been documented from the use of benzoyl peroxide, but that some manufacturers recommend pregnant woman don't use it unless it is considered essential. I am going to continue using it when/if I get pregnant because I do not feel there's a high risk and I haven't found anything else that keeps my skin blemish-free. Hope this helps!
Benzoyl peroxide is a very frequently used treatment for acne. If a 10% solution of benzoyl peroxide (such as Oxy 10) causes irritation, use a lower dose of Benzoyl peroxide; anti-acne facial wipes usually contain 2.5% benzoyl peroxide.

A very common active ingredient in acne gels is Benzoyl Peroxide, including Clearasil and ProActiv. The Benzoyl Peroxide works by introducing oxygen to the pores which kills the acne.
The best over the counter treatment for acne is salicylic acid 10% and benzoyl peroxide. Many acne products contain a combination of both of these active ingredients available over the counter.
Proactiv will not treat lupus skin lesions; Proactiv is a treatment for acne. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide. Although benzoyl peroxide is useful to treat acne and safe for people with lupus, care should be taken. Benzoyl peroxide can be irritating to the skin and photosensitizing, thus risking potential lupus flares with sun exposure. The dose of benzoyl peroxide in Proactiv is lower than that in some other formulations, but adequate sunscreen is still imperative prior to sun exposure, especially for people with lupus.
10 percent benzoyl peroxide is very stong and it can dry out a pimple very quickly. I recommend following up the treatment with vitamin E or moisturizer.
topical tretinoin along with a topical or oral antibiotic. A combination of topical benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin is also very effective.
Most acne washes have salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic Acid has 7 carbons, 6 Hydrogens, and 3 Oxygens. Salicylic Acid is also called 2-Hydroxybenzoic Acid. Benzoyl Peroxide has 14 Carbons, 10 Hydrogens, and 4 Oxygens. Benzoyl Peroxide is also called dibenzoyl peroxide. I hope this is what your looking for.
