A male Betta should flash and square up to a mirror image of itself if it sees one occasionally. If the mirror is presented to the fish too often or permanently, the fish will simply learn to ignore it.
This will depend on the type of fish. Some fish, like goldfish, are likely not to pay much attention to it at all, while a betta fish, particularly a male, may believe there is another male in the tank & will flare and/or poke at the mirror trying to fight with the non-existent fish.
I have to fish back at home, and both of them are hypnotized by my mirror!
it will start fight with it's reflection
yes, doh
It will think that there is another fish really there and it will fight at it until you take the mirror away from it or it dies.
Placing a small mirror glass in front of your fighter fish will do the job
A Siamese Fighting Fish can see its reflection in a mirror.
Put a mirror in front of it, that usually drives them mad.
A fish eye mirror is a convex mirror
No, fighting fish (Bettas) are only interested in fighting with other fighting fish.
The betta fish will see the mirror and then will be curious about it, because the mirror reflects the betta fish and they might think that it is another fish, so the fish will act differently.
Of course they can. How else would we have fighting fish.
The scientific name for the Japanese fighting fish is Betta splendens.
MIRROR
They are not hungry
Actually, I used to have a Betta Fish... but then it died. If you put a mirror up to them... then they'll start to puff up... and show their fighting technique. I guess that the more you do this the better they'll get.
