Money itself cannot be directly considered to be "evil", as it's an inanimate object. It's the desire for money that can cause evil acts to be committed.
Early on in mankind's history, humans began to trade objects they had for those they wanted or needed. For example, say I'm a fisherman, so I have fish; and you're a farmer who owns an apple orchard, so you have apples. Since my skills allow me to acquire fish, and yours allow you to acquire apples, it would be beneficial to us both if I were to trade my excess fish for your excess apples. That way, we both have a bit of each, where normally we'd only have one or the other. It was much the same thing when hunters would trade their meat with weavers for clothes or potters would trade their earthenware to a forager for some strawberries. They would also trade for services, such as hiring a carpenter or mason to build them a house. This was known as the barter system.
Later on, humans began working with metals, including precious metals such as gold and silver. Eventually, they would begin making coins from gold, which served no practical purpose, but were intended to represent the value of an object. For example, let us go back to my earlier example where I am a fisherman and you're an apple farmer. Say I have extraneous fish I want to trade to you, which you want; but your apple harvest hasn't come in yet, so you don't have any apples to trade for them. So instead of giving me apples for my fish, you give me gold coins, which I can trade back to you for your apples when your harvest comes in, or use to buy whatever else I want. This was known as the monetary system.
Gold and silver coins were predominantly used as currency for a few millennium, but as banks began to sprout up all throughout Europe, people began to produce bank notes; first on sheets of metal, and later on the paper money we know today. A bank note represented a set value of money within the bank. The note could later be returned to the bank in exchange for the gold and silver money it was worth. The idea caught on, because it was far lighter and more compact than a purse filled with heavy metal coins, and so the age of paper currency began.
However, whether in a paper state, precious metal state or even with the barter system, human corruption will always be present. People have stolen, plundered, murdered and committed many other atrocities since the beginning of time in the name of material possessions. However, it's easier in a society where a system of currency is present, because money is universal. It can be traded for nearly anything, because so many people accept it as a measure of value; unlike apples or fishes.
Here we have to remember a few things that money is not at all bad any way but the greed for the money is very bad.
The Bible clearly says that it is the love of money is bad , and not the money itself.
It could be
The Bible says that the LOVE of money is a root of evil; not MONEY is a root of evil.
The greed for the money is the root of all evil.
Money is not evil. LOVE of money is the root of evil. You are entitled to a fair profit for goods or services.
In general no I suppose there are a few nasty ones around however the same rule apples to men.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Girls = Time X Money (You waste your time and money)Time is Money.=> Girls = (Money)2Money is the root cause of all Evil. (Money = √Evil)=> Girls = (√Evil)2=> Girls = Evil
What do you suppose causes most of the world's problems? The want of money. People are will to do anything for money. Think it over. Money in itself is not evil. It can be used to do many good things with and it certainly buys food and pays the rent, but it is the evil that people do to get money that is the cause of evil.
Please note the bible says that the greed for money is the root of all evil.
People do stupid and evil things for money. Many/ most crimes are related to money.
Money is not the root of all evil, It's the Love of moneythat is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10
Money is not the root of all evil, It's the Love of moneythat is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10
Money is not evil itself but it's the LOVE of money that is evil. Almost every societ had some form of trade and our society trades with money the sad part is that people start to love money more than god and everything else
The origin of the phrase comes from the Bible. However, it's not "money is the root cause of all evil." The phrase is "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Basically, this means that greed causes us to do evil.
No the bible says the greed for the money is the root of all evil.
