Not so much, the burn off in the home is very minimal, most of the real nasty burn off comes from behind the glass. open windows and doors, it can set of a smoke detector.

Why would an 89 caprice classic shoot out a puff of smoke when you first start it up after it sits like overnight but doesnt smoke after that?

Classic signs of worn oil seals in the cylinder head. Oil leaks into the bores overnight, after the initial burnoff the exhaust runs clear.

How do you separate carbon fiber from PES resin to measure fiber length We have tried to use a muffle furnact at 800C and it seems to burn off the carbon fibers?

Please refer ASTM D 3171 Procedure B, where you have to digest the matrix i.e. resin in Sulphuric acid and Hydrogen peroxide and remaining will be carbon. With burnoff method there is Approx 5 % loss in carbon @ 500ºC, so it is not a good method for CFRP.

What happens when you drink 3 shots of whiskey?

It depends on your body mass. Using the "rule of eights" a 150 pound man would be about 0.096 BAC. In the US that is legally drunk. (Limit is 0.08) A 250 pound man, however, would be about 0.0576, which is impaired (limit is 0.04) but not drunk.Rule of Eights: Fluid ounces of alcohol (1.5 * 3 * 0.4) times 8 (10 for women, more for obese people) divided by body mass in pounds. Subtract 0.02 per hour for burnoff rate for a healthy liver.

Is it there any Alien?

aliens are still uncorfirmed to date but however in 1961 astronmer frank drake invented a formulae to calculate how many communicative civilzations are in the milky way his formulae follows: N=R* Fp ne Fl Fi Fc L N= 10x0.5x2x1x1x0.5x10000 N= 10000 communicative civilzations This is what drake came out in 1961. sadly, the formulae was done again and from 10000 to 2.31 so is there 10000 2 or 3 civilaztions in the milkway or are we the only ones

Why does water vapor decrease?

There is not less water vapour in the atmosphere. In fact, as the earth warms, the warm air is able to hold more water vapour. Water vapour is a greenhouse gas, so the air gets warmer. So it can hold more water vapour. And so on. This is one of what is called the "positive feedbacks" of global warming!

How do koalas get along with man?

This depends on the environment. Generally, koalas avoid Man. If one is out bushwalking, one is highly unlikely to even see a koala. They are silent and do not interact with Man. In suburban bushland fringes, however, it can be a different story. Koalas spend most of their time in the trees, but they will come down to move between trees even when there are people around. Some people are quite used to seeing koalas walk through their backyard. Koalas have been known to approach people for help when distressed. This was certainly the case when a volunteer firefighter manning a burnoff during a heatwave in the 2008-2009 summer was approached by a distressed koala needing a drink. The photograph of the koala drinking from the water bottle the fireman offered it made news headlines, as it is not a common situation. On a personal note, I have been within arm's reach of a koala while walking in the bush. It had just begun to climb a tree when it saw me and paused, waiting to see what I would do. On another occasion, a koala attempted to descend a tree while I was supervising a group of schoolchildren underneath the tree. The children knew better than to attempt to reach out to the koala, as they were aware of the unpredictability of Australia's wild animals, but the koala was certainly within reach, and I was prepared to guide it across the road, had there been oncoming traffic.

Can a bad thermostat on a Ford Taurus 2002 if it is stuck open cause a loss of antifreeze you cannot find any leaks anywhere?

Only in the case that the motor overheated as a result of a bad thermostat. If the motor overheated you may have a blown headgasket which is resulting in coolant loss. However a bad thermostat will not exactly be the cause coolant loss, but can cause the head gasket, head, or block to crack as a result of overheating, which results in discreet coolant loss. Typically anti-freeze loss is indicative of some form of leak or burnoff including but not limited to: -Failed headgasket- Coolant maybe burning in the cylinder or worse, leaking into the crankcase to oil pan and may cause premature engine failure due to lack of lubrication. -Cracked Head or Block- Frequently a cracked head or block can leak coolant into the motor causing it to be burned off giving signs of a failed headgasket, but the headgasket may be completely intact. As aforementioned, engine failure due to fluid contamination may be possible. -Leaking Automatic Transmission cooler- Most automatic transmission Ford Tauruses have a line (not all maybe so equipped. some have external auxiliary coolers.) that runs into the radiator and assists in cooling the transmission. This line can corrode overtime resulting the coolant leaking into the transmission causing permanent transmission damage or failure if left untreated. The aforementioned is only in the case that there are absolutely no leaks indicated anywhere on the vehicle. Common leaks that may not be identifiable without careful analysis consist of: Freeze plugs- often times these are overlooked, there are some located in between the motor and the transmission and are innaccessible without removing the transmission. You can notice leaking occurring from between the flexplate and motor. Heater Core - This is located inside the vehicle under the dash. It's out of sight so you may miss the leak. If the heater core is leaking, coolant will be seeping out of the bottom of the blending manifold and dripping on the floor inside the passenger compartment. Look for stains or wet spots on the bottom of the plastic case, or on the passenger side floor. Coolant Bypass tube leak- There is a tube that runs under the intake manifold, and sometimes it may rust and leak if not properly cared for. The metal tube and hoses connected to it can split and leak dripping behind the motor onto the head and exhaust manifold. This leak can be difficult to detect as the hot motor will evaporate the coolant quickly.
