To my knowledge, an OBDII scanner tool will read any OBDII system in any vehicle. And yes, the 2000 Mazda has the OBDII system. Incase you did not know. All vehicles sold in the US 96 and newer are required to have an OBDII system.
You need OBD2 reader or scanner to get the codes
OBD2 diagnostics were federally mandated for all cars made/assembled/imported into the USA in 1996. A quick check of the emissions label on top of the radiator should tell you, as well as the shape of the diagnostic port. yes, any OBD2 tool will work.
LOCATION OF OBD2 PORT?
where is the fault self diagnostic connector located on a mazda demio
Its OBD1
You must reset the light with an OBD2 scan tool. Resetting the light without repairing the problem that set the fault code in the first place will only allow the light to come on again.
all cars manufactured in the us after 1996 use obd2
since 1995 to present, you have to retrieve codes by use of a obd2 scanner.
I know that the 2001 model is OBD2 Compatible. Check out this site: www.carplugs.com/obd2ford.html
