The Jewish Bible is called the Tanach. The word Tanach is an acronym made from the names of its three sections: Torah (Teachings), Nevi'im (Prophets), K'tuvim (Writings).
The Torah is the 5 books of Moses.
The Christian Old Testament is based on the whole of the Tanach but was altered to support the teachings of Christianity.
The Jewish bible is commonly referred to as the old testament or the Tanakh or the Hebrew Bible.*The most important texts are:the Torah (first five books of the Bible)the Bible, also called the Tanakh (known to Christians as the old testament)The MishnahThe TalmudAnd various historical writings from scholars and rabbis, such as the Shulchan Aruch, the Mishneh Torah, and the Zohar.*Only the Christians refer to the Hebrew Bible as "the Old Testament".
There is none. The Hebrew Bible, or "Tanakh" (תנ״ך) only contains the books that Christians refer to as "the old testament." But the Old testament is not at all equivalent to the New testament. Both have entirely different information and messages. The New Testament was written in Greek only. There is an online version of the New Testament in Hebrew, but its quality is mediocre both in translation and in layout, and there are numbering mistakes throughout (verses are mislabeled in the Hebrew side, so the English verse doesn't alway match up to the correct Hebrew verse. you can view it here
The Hebrew people believe only in the old testament. well actually that would imply that anyone who is Hebrew can't be christian, the Jewish religion is what only believes in the old testament, or the Tanach , which by the way has a lot more books in it and is a lot longer than the bible version
Ezra is a Hebrew name in the Bible that means helper. Ezra was a prophet in the Old Testament. Ezra is also a book in the Old Testament of the Bible. Ezra follows 1 & 2 Chronicles and is right before Nehemiah.
The Tanakh (also Tenakh, Tenak, Tanach) is a name for the cannon of the Hebrew bible, which became the Old Testament adopted by Christians. The Tanakh includes the written Torah (or Pentateuch) which is the name for the first five books of the Bible. The Septuagint, or simply "LXX", is an Ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible. In time this was referred to as the Greek translation of Old Testament.
There is a large amount of literature in Hebrew. The most famous is the Bible, that is written in biblical Hebrew. The Bible includes the Torah (pentateuch), the first five books, and also the books of the Writings and of the Prophets. There are also many other religious books, such as the mishna, written later. There is a flourishing body of literature being written in Modern Hebrew today in Israel.
Apart from Christianity, you could say that all other religions do not accept the New Testament. (The religion that accepts the Old Testament, or Hebrew Bible, but not the New Testament, is Judaism.) It is also worth noting that Islam rejects the New Testament as written, but does not reject the spiritual nature of the events it describes. Islam holds the New Testament to be a corrupted form of Jesus's Ministry, something that is very important in Islam.
Do you mean Judaism? The main one is the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, also known as the Hebrew Scriptures. It consists of the same 39 Books as the old testament but presented in a different order.
The Hebrew Bible contains twenty-four books which are divided into three parts: the five books of Torah, the Nevi'im, and the Ketuvim. On the other hand, the first part of the Christian Bible is the Old Testament, which contains the twenty-four books of the Hebrew Bible that are divided into thirty-nine books. They are also ordered in a different way than the Hebrew Bible's books.
The translation here depends entirely on what you are trying to say.If you want to talk about the parts of the Bible, the word typically used by Hebrew-speaking Christians is "brit" (ברית). They refer to the Old Testament as HaBrit HaYashana (הברית הישנה) and the New Testament as HaBrit HaKhadasha (הברית החדשה). However, most Hebrew speakers are Jews and reject the concepts of an "Old and New Testament", arguing that the Jewish Bible - Tanakh (תנ״ך) in Hebrew - is the only Bible. There is a testament also in the sense of a will bequeathing belongings to an heir and this is Tzava'a (צואה).Finally, there is also testament in the sense of an oath or affirmation, like a witness statement, and this is Shvu'a (שבועה).
The Hebrew name for the "Old Testament" is "Tanakh." The Tanakh is the Jewish Bible. (The Christian Old Testament was based on the Tanakh but the OT was altered to support the teachings of Christianity.)
A very important translation of the Old Testament ('Hebrew Scriptures / Hebrew Bible') into Greek was the Septuaginttranslation.'LXX' (Roman numerals for '70') is an abbreviation for this translation. There are also other translations of the Hebrew scriptures into Greek, but the LXX is the oldest, and is very highly regarded. For more information, see Related links below.
