The Marshall Plan was a very good thing. In contrast to WWI, where people grew bitter in the aftermath of the war and its effects, and the seeds of WWII grew from this bitterness, the Marshall Plan helped a devastated Europe get back on its feet. This forestalled the bitterness of the earlier war, and helped to make sure that Europe would finally see an era of peace.

Why was the Marshall Plan selected?
The reason the Marshall plan was necessary was because the economy in Europe after WW2 was very bad, and with the threat of USSR they needed to get the economy flowing in Europe. Or else many European countries would fall to Communism, in fact there were a few countries in eastern Europe that did become Communist i hoped that helped you out.
