Is the bolt for the idler pulley right or left hand thread in a 1999 Pontiac Montana The box says it can be either and it seems to tighten up either way it is turned?

Turn it left to loosen, and do NOT overtighten because you don't want to ruin threads (they may be damaged if last person that installed pulley over-tightened it).
