There was a slight change around 86 or 87 when they introduced raised rocker cover rails and one piece rear main seals. An older intake can be modified for a newer engine by enlarging the 4 center holes.
There is no carburetor on these new fangled cars. Darn things have the newer port fuel injection. Not even throttle body injection, which kind of LOOKS like a carburetor. It does have a throttle body though, at the junction of the air intake hose and the intake manifold.
The throttle position sensor on a 1997 Chevy Venture is located next to the air intake hose on the Electronic Fuel Injector (carburetor). Follow the air intake hose from the air filter to the EFI (carburetor) and it will be on the right hand side where the air intake hose connects to the carburetor.
its not, not necessary
no more carburetors. fuel injected throttle body. throttle body is at the end of the air intake hose on the engine.
If both engines have a carburetor on them, THEN NO. They will interchange.
On a Saturn S-series car, the cars one of two types of fuel injection, either throttle body injection (TBI) on 1994 and earlier SOHC engines, or multi-port fuel injection (MPFI) on 1995 and later SOHC engines and on all DOHC engines. TBI uses a unit mounted on the air intake manifold, just like a carburetor would be. MPFI uses a more complicated assembly mounted behind the engine. Both systems can be found by tracing the air intake. Neither is really the same as a carburetor, though.
The 1989 Cavalier is Fuel Injected and does not have a carburetor. The 2.8 V6 is Multi Port FI. The 4 cylinder, I am not familiar with and it may be Throttle Body FI which would look like a carburetor, but if you look closely, has a single injector mounted in the intake plenum. Both engines are FI.
its under the seat in between the airbox and plastic air intake, if that doesnt help fallow your throttle cable back.
yes you can you just need to change over the intake manifold from a carburetor to the throttle body intake
first install new carb gasket to intake manifold and then 4 nuts hold the carb to the intake studs and then install the throttle linkage to the carb.
One possibility is that the throttle plate has carbon around it preventing it from closing all the way. Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body. Using a cloth and some spray carburetor cleaner, clean the bore of the air intake around the throttle plate.
That thing on the top of the engine that looks like a carburetor, But it'sreally a Throttle body that's bolted onto the INTAKEUNDERSTAND.
