Reliable in the sense that you can be certain that if your able to get past the initial withdrawal of all those chemicals found in foods these day (over 30 different ingredients for a snack product) not to mention caffeine (is that how they keep you coming back?) you can be sure that once you incorporate your diet to at least 70% raw products you will not be waking up in the morning feeling groggy, unable to get up and irritable. It takes your body far more energy to break down cooked foods than it does raw foods because raw foods already have the soldiers necessary for your body to BREAK DOWN the food, called ENZYMES, a component destroyed by heat over 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Many raw foodists will use dehydrators to 'cook' their foods because it uses the foods natural caloric energy to cook the food and at the same time locking in the essential nutrients. The reason so many of us feel so exhausted after eating is because so many ingredients in foods these days are foreign to our bodies and contain no enzymes which WASTE precious energy that could be valuable to your immune systems defenses, energy being used just to produce the digestive juices needed to break down all that junk going into your body, becoming sludge that leads to chronic constipation, inflammation and cancers. Many people describe a feeling of 'lightness' and that is a sign that your body is finally being given a chance to rest and use its energy toward parts of your body that seriously needs its attention. Unfortunately, school systems are not encouraged to teach basic anatomy to children but just stress the "food groups" which seem more like corporate agenda and disinformation than good health.
