They are two incomparable things. The surface is a tablet and the iMac is a desktop. Plus, they are at two completely different price ranges. The iMac is more than double the price of the surface.
It depends on your budget and what you are going to use the device for.
iMac is for processor intensive tasks: gaming, graphic design, video editing, etc.
Surface: word processing, casual apps, simple stuff.
