Yes, there's a "cabin air filter" on many cars. It's much overlooked because most people don't know it exists.

Some are under the dash, some are in the engine compartment. Sorry I don't know where yours is--or even for certain that your car has one.

AC evaporators are cold enough that moisture in the air is constantly condensing on the outside. Since they are constantly wet, they are an ideal location for fungus to grow. The fungus smells bad once it gets established. You can't really filter out the fungus, since it's on the refrigeration coils and past the filter. The only thing you can do is SOMETIMES an anti-fungal liquid can be sprayed into the AC intake and you can destroy the fungus and get rid of the smell. It's far more common in areas of the country where the air is constantly humid.

A Concorde does not have a cabin filter.
