I'm also pretty sure for NLEs you can get Adobe Elements Lite and you make the file play backwards by right clicking it, choosing ADJUST SPEED, and click the PLAY REVERSE checkbox. It's been a few years since I used elements, but that;s how you do it in CS5.
If there's no checkbox in elements make the speed -100% and click ok.
