On the 4.0 L OHV engine , the camshaft sensor is at the back of the engine,on top of the engine block, where the distributor used to be
installed on the older versions. According to my Haynes repair manual.
The camshaft sensor on the 99 Olds Intrigue is located on the engine block. It is under the starter, which has to be removed to locate the camshaft sensor.
YES - it has a camshaft position sensor
Locate the camshaft sensor in your car. Disconnect the electrical plug on the sensor. Remove the bolt that holds it in place. Twist the the sensor to remove it and place in the new one.
You locate cam-sensor check for loose or broken wires ,if this doesn't work replace cam-sensor.
a92 ford exp. has no camshaft pos. sencor. it has a crankshaft pos. censor.
To change the camshaft positioning sensor on a 98 GMC Jimmy you need to first locate it. The sensor is located within the distributor. Next, unbolt the old sensor and replace with a new sensor.
From the front of the vehicle the sensor is left of the harmonic balancer and above it.
It is located between the camshafts right behind the camshaft pulley's.
unplug wire remove 2 7/32 bolts remove sensor
take passenger whell off and inner then you will locate it
The camshaft position sensor is located near the thermostat housing. You should replace the crankshaft position sensor as well. This one is much harder to locate....it is on the backside of the engine that is between the firewall and the engine block. Both use the same sensor.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe the camshaft position sensor on a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT , with the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine is ( on the drivers side valve cover , near the engine oil fill cap )
