Your vehicle has the PassLock system, not the older PassKey. In the PassKey system there was a resistor pellet in the key that would go bad. In PassLock, the guts of the system are behind the lock cylinder. PassLock has almost a 100% failure rate and the way to fix it is to replace the lock cylinder assembly.
