I am a Korpal (sometimes spelt as Corepal) and I think the Jewish and Polish Korpals are not related, the name is probably similar in Hebrew or Polish languages.

Nice to see another Korpal online, we originate from Hakimpur.

I am a Korpal. My ancestors were from what is now Poland. They were Roman Catholic. I'm not aware of any Jewish Korpals. I am curious if there is any genealogy connection between the Korpals from Poland and the Korpals from India.

I am a Korpal of Polish ancestry. I'm not aware of any Jewish Korpals. The Korpals from Poland were Roman Catholic. I am very curious as well on whether there is any relation between the Indian Korpals and the Polish Korpals. I did see the answer indicating that the Korpals from India sometimes go by Corepal rather than Korpal, which the Polish Korpals do not use another spelling of their surname. When they immigrated to the United States they retained the Korpal spelling. Was the Corepal or Korpal surname spelling used first in India? That might give us an indication if there's perhaps a connection. I'd love to know more about the Korpals in India please.
