Yes. Veterinary school is much harder to get into than medical school as there are so fewer of them. You must have good grades, activities, and high test scores. Dedication and common sense are a must as well. It is a very trying 4 years.
To become a vet in England there is a 5 to 6 years university component. The year following graduation you must register with Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon. You are to maintain current education during your practice.
