Sounds Like You Have Air In Your Brake Line Or Lines. Bleed The System. If This Don`t Help And You Brake Shoes Or Brake Pads Are OK. Then It Is Most Likely The Master Cylinder. GOOD LUCK
THOSE ARE DISC BRAKES
01 jetta have One reservoir for clutch and for brakes.
Yes... buy any Jetta, Golf or Cabrio model disc brakes or strip them at the junk yard. its easy to install but its possible. make sure its only from the years 1996-1998 if not it won't work
Pads--and if you've got disc brakes on the back of the car, which I think you do, you need pads back there too.
I have a 2003 Jetta Wagon with the 1.8 Turbo (gas). Owner's manual says 1500 lbs with trailer brakes. Trust this helps.
i believe that is your brake sensor light. might be time to replace brakes
I have written an answer on the first page, please see there :-)
pull back the ruber around the bolt and use a pair of vise grips.
Yes; the Volkswagen Jetta tdi had a thick disk brake in the front end and the rear disk brake is larger in diameter than the front brakes but not as reinforced.
Assuming your rear brakes have material, could be bad hardware...alot of brake shops offer FREE brake inspections...no obligation--with a written order of their recommendations...:)
looks like you need to bleed your brakes they most likely have air in them and bleeding them should fix this
Its probably the metal wear indicator on your brake pads squealing to let you know that your pads are almost worn out.
