Correct! it's on the passenger side of the motor, just over the altenator. the fan's will hardly ever go bad. if you have cooling problems it's more than likely the pump or sensors.

I was looking at a Ford website and it shows the ( hydraulic cooling fan pump hose ) going from the reservoir to the pump . The other hose is not labelled

Not sure what a fan pump is, please give us more info.

If you mean the engine cooling fan fluid reservoir ( located in the engine compartment on the passenger side of the engine ) it takes MERCON automatic transmission fluid according to the 2000 Lincoln LS owners manual
