I had the same problem in my dad's 2002. it did it a couple of times after i reset the codes, it actually turned out to be the air filter was disastrous. They told him they changed it when they changed the oil, they most certainly did not, my dad is one of those old school guys that changes his oil every 3,000 miles. Don't know if this is your problem but it was the problem with his. It is a cheap place to start, I am not a mechanic, just a guy with a similar situation. Good Luck.
how to change alternator in a 2003 mazda tribute 2.0L
3500lbs
The 2004 Mazda Tribute has two different engines. The 4 cylinder engine uses 4.5 quarts. The 6 cylinder engine uses 5.5 quarts of oil.
Screwed into the cylinder head.
It will have a cylinder misfire or will not run at all.
The Mazda Tribute has 4 plugs (4-cylinder) The 3.0L V-6 has six plugs.
The 2004 Mazda Tribute 4 cylinder model has a timing belt. The Mazda Tribute V6 has a timing chain................."BUKUBU!LT".........B I G Island HAWA!!......
2002 Mazda tribute, what is cylinder misfire My #5 cylinder has a misfire. Battery light also flickers according to idle. So far not alternator. Alternator and battery was replaced maybe 2 years ago.
Don't do it!!!! I have a 2003 Tribute...nothing but problems. Parts are expensive, labor is almost impossible. I absolutely hate it!! And it's very uncomfortable.
The 2005 Mazda Tribute was built in a 2.3L 4-cylinder and 3.0 V6 trims. The OEM plug for the 4-cylinder is NGK part#90813 should be gapped at .054-inches. The V6 is the same part# but needs a gap of .052.
$5000. I'm thinking that since you call it a 'tribute', it is some sort of privately manufactured set with a very small value to a collector.
90,000 miles and it's NOT an interference engine ( according to the Gates website listing for the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine in a 2002 Mazda Tribute )
