possible water getting in alternator or bad wiring connector for coil or crank shaft position sensor.
The computer could have become confused. disconnect the battery from the vehicle. Leave it unhooked for several hours. Reconnect the battery. This should reset the computer, and hopefully solve the problem.
Gas mileage also went down and I just replaced o2 sensors.
have you ever changed the fuel filter ?
Bad plug wires, water in fuel, fuel pressure NOT correct, bad spark plugs. That engine has 2 crank sensors. 1 behind the balancer and 1 in the fire wall side of the block.
I expect the motor to sputter to life any second, now... The clerk was so exasperated, he could only sputter.
Have you changed the air filter too?
My camero doesn't sputter ever, even when you accelerate.
Coolant may have leaked into an electrical connection while disconnecting the hoses. Check the sensors located on the front of the engine and make sure that all electrical connections are dry.
