The fault key start is a problem with Chevy caprice's and it starts with the key itself which has a RFID chip and that runs about $35.00 and if that does not work then you have a problem with the transceiver in the steering column and that has to be fix by a professional and it is costly

Same with my 1993 Chevy Caprice. Right now I've heard it could be one of the following: Idle Air Control(IAC), Fuel Filter, EGR, O2 sensor, MAP sensor, TPS(changed mines but still surging) and the costly of them all the intake manifold is leaking!
An intermittent miss in a 94 Caprice could be something in the ignition system. Check the plug wires and ignition coil to start with.
a vac leak
i think i had the same problem with my 84 caprice. is the battery dead when u go to start it? i unplugged the clock in the dash and it seemed to fix it.
Sounds like an electrical problem - maybe coil
It sounds like it is not getting fuel to the engine. Try checking for fuel pressure. You may have a bad fuel filter or fuel pump.
It's a Chevy! It is quite possible that you have a problem with your suspension or are in need of a new set of tires. Maybe both.
