the starter motor needs replacing
The wires to the starter are probably connected wrong.
Loose or corroded battery cables? Loose connection at starter?
If it starts every time when jumper cables are attached, you're getting a poor connection from the battery to the engine. Check the battery cables, especially the negative side, at both the battery and the end attached to the engine and/or body. (Note that, if the starter were bad, it probably wouldn't start consistently with jumper cables attached.)AnswerStarter needs to be replaced. Probably stuck brushes or bad solenoid. Try hitting the side of the starter with a wrench the next time it acts up. If it starts it's stuck brushes in the starter.
it could be the starter or it could just be a bad battery, try to jump start the vehicle with another vehicle with jumper cables or a jumpbox, if the vehicle starts, most likely it is the battery. It is still a good idea to get the starter checked out.
That usually means your cables are loose and aren't making good contact. The clicking is the arcing of the spark. Tighten your battery cable ends completely and make sure they can't spin on the posts at all.
It's your starter solenoid. Toys are hard to replace just the solenoid. replace the starter!!!!!
If the engine will not even crank, then suspect a defective battery or starter. Start by removing both battery cables and cleaning the cable connections and battery posts. Reconnect them and see if it starts. If not put a battery charger on the battery and fully charge it. If it will not accept a charge is is defective. It the vehicle starts then you may have a defective alternator. If the battery is good and it still will not start, suspect a bad starter. You will have to remove it and have it tested.
Check for loose or corroded battery cables Could be starter solenoid is getting weak and needs replacing
Sounds like you are reversing the cables.
you've got your wires crossed on your starter,
The ignition switch completes the circuit of electricity from the battery to the starter that actually turn the engine over and starts it.The ignition switch completes the circuit of electricity from the battery to the starter that actually turn the engine over and starts it.
I would start by checking and cleaning the battery cables.Might be something as easy as that. Also I would try hooking up jumpper cables to the connections under the hood. this would elimanate the battery and all cables from under the rear seat. If it starts fine with jumpper cables trace it backward to fine bad cable. now the bad news,if none of this helps it is most likely a bad start solinoid witch is mounted on top of the starter. More bad news the starter is under the intake manifold. This is a a job to remove the manifold and injectors and wiring to get to the starter.Hopefully the lose or dirt battery cables fixes the problem. Good luck, hope this helps, Ben Parker, San Jose, Ca.
