Since you didn't mention what kind of problems or what type of engine this is or the year it was made, we really don't have much to go on. You can edit your question or perhaps go to a local parts store and ask them. We really DO need more information in order to help you.
Check the oxygen sensor. My 1995 Grand Cherokee stopped stalling while driving after it was replaced.
I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 4.0 litre six cylinder and 4x4 transmission. It has died on me several times while driving but was only a fuse on the passenger side under the hood. It was located in the section that says TRANS. When I replaced the fuse it started right up.
Have it checked for codes, the throttle position sensor has probably failed.
I had that same exact problem with a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, and it was indeed a bad oxygen sensor. Relatively cheap repair too.
could be the crank shaft positioning sensor 80 bucksits located on the upper part of the bell of the transmission, drivers side, two screws. been there, done that, good luck, not easy to get to.
No, the 1994 has a hydraulic governor while the 1996 has an electronic governor.
If the grand cherokee is a 93-98 yes... otherwise, no you cannot. 99+ Grand cherokee "rims" or wheels are a 5x5 (5x127 mm) bolt pattern while the cherokee has 5x4.5 you need not consider the size...15" 16" 17" will generally fit on a grand cherokee. It's the bolt pattern you need to pay attention to.
the reason an engine "jerks" is because all of the fuel going into the cylinders are is not completely burning thus causing a loss of power...
If your Impala jerks while going up hills, it could be low on transmission fluid. If it does not do it on level ground, check the fluid and replace the filter.
It depends on the setpoint of the thermostat.

My bet it is the spark plug wires or spark plugs or rotor cap if it has one. If the wires are going bad, they are worse "under load" (while driving).
Fuel pump going out maybe?
The Grand Cherokee is the best selling Chrysler vehicle. Many customers go for the Grand Cherokee while buying Chrysler vehicle brands because of efficiency, looks, and cost packages that appease to them.
While it could have been, Jeep does not offer a V4.
Check your oxygen senser, fuel filter, or cool pack
