My 406LX 1.8i Just cut out on me doing 40mph now it wont start It was low on petrol but I have put some in and it still just turns over no start?

You have A very well built vehicle, I have only one good suggestion for you before I suggest you take it to A repair shop. Try changing the fuel filter (petrol filter), If this does not fix the problem you have A problem that will require some diagnostics.
