Check for a vacuum leak under the hood, as most HVAC controls are vacuum operated. Listen for a hissing noise. If you have some mechanical expertise, you can spray carburetor cleaner around under the hood and listen for a change in idle speed, this will give you an approximate location to search for a vacuum leak. Once this is fixed, your HVAC should work normally.
Air flow is controlled by plastic doors which are controlled by vacume motors. Could be they're stuck, or a vacume leak.
Sounds like a stuck blend door.
Hi, It is not the blend door, that is for heat/cold changes. The mode door could be the problem, or stuck defrost door.
The air door under the Blazers dash could be stuck, or there could be a vacuum leak on the engine. The door opens and closes from vacuum, directing the air from heat to defrost.
If it's stuck in defrost your battery died and messed up the computer. Disconnect battery for 5 or more min. My 96 cooled and heated ok but was stuck in defrost
well ive heard (i had a similar problem with my car) that vacuum lines are to blame, the default setting for you air conditioning is defrost since if it broke and you were in the snow up north at least the air would defrost your windshields to fix mine i simply had to plug in a vacuum line that had come unplugged, you might have some wierd sort of leak in yours
It sounds like your vacuum controls are stuck on the defroster I had that happen and I sprayed a lubricant into the vacuum lines and it cleared up
Check for vacuum leak either under dash or hood Check for bad vacuum motor under dash Defrost is the default setting for this vehicle
No
most likely the cable is stuck, try oiling it, if all else fails buy a new one
The rotary switch uses the engine vacuum system to operate the diverter "flap". If it is stuck in defrost mode then you have a vacuum problem... It can either be from the source (not generating vacuum), or in the transmission of the vacuum (the small plastic tubes). These tubes are prone to dry-rot/cracking causing them to loose their capacity to transmit the negative pressure.
the flap on the vent and defroster is stuck somewhere in between so it is not letting proper airflow to where you designate it possibly something sticky has fell down through the defrost vent and is constricting max. airflow
