how i can set 1997 Mitsubishi diamante timing beltAnswerhow i can set 1997 Mitsubishi diamante timing belt
about $700 to $800...with a new water pump
Go somewhere and have your timing checked.
The interval of changing timing on the Mitsubishi diamante is every 60,000 miles, if you drive moderately, you may deffered changing up to 95,000 miles but don't go over 100,000 miles, the belts will snap anytime at this point.good luck
it is located on the topside of the crank sprocket behind the timing cover.
You'll need to take the harmonic balancer off and remove the timing cover to see it. Often you need to remove the timing belt to get it out.
its in the midle of the head under the powerstering pump you have to remove the timing covers if you are going to change it i would recomend the you changethe the timing chain
$1200 - $1300 range as quoted with other "service interval" related parts at 120,000 mi.
Ooh, this is a fun one. The water pump is driven by the timing belt, so you have to remove and replace that to change out the water pump. ~Pengauin
Yes if the outside drive belts are over tightened after doing the timing belt it will pull up on the crank causing extra stress on the front bearing.
2005 mitsubishi colt timing belt
The dealer service manual says 60,000 miles. But, on the Diamante forum there are cars with 180,000 miles on the original belt. Sounds scary! This is a "interference" engine. This means that if the belt breaks, the valves hit the pistons and cost a lot!!!
