Need to find parts to race a1990 lesabre LN3 3800?
Most Buicks have a 3800 engine, (it'll have a big 3800 on top of the engine) these have three different filter locations. one being in the wheel well and you can access it behind the front, passenger side tire. The other two locations are on the front of the engine or underneath the engine right next to the drain plug. You will need to get underneath the vehicle for these two locations.
My 1996 Buick Lesabre 3800 engine races at high rpm's on cold mornings below 40F until the car warms up This can take 15 minutes My other Lesabre doesn't do this What is wrong?
If the check engine light is on you should take it to a shop or an auto parts store that will scan if for you. they can often tell you what is wrong and even what part you'll need. The two most likely parts that come to mind are the AIT Sensor ( Air Intake Temperature Sensor) or the Idle Air Control Valve. When these sensors aren't working it causes the engine to either race…
You need to BClear. I think that car had 2 different 3800 motors. They can be differentiated by the 8th digit of the VIN. That is if your talking about the spark plug gap and not the gap on the A/C clutch. You can also find the gap for the spark plugs on a detailed white sticker in the engine compartment. email@example.com
How do you remove the exhaust side valve cover on a 90 Buick LeSabre with a 3800 Power steering pump seems to get in the way?
Your car has OBD II (On Board Diagnostics II). You need a scanning device to read the codes. You can purchase an inexpensive code reader from your local auto parts store for under $100 or simply ask the auto parts store to read the codes for you, they provide this service for zip if you purchase the parts needed to repair from them.
Will a pontiacbuick 3.8 3800 supercharged fwd engine fit a 1987 fiero what parts neededwhere can i find info on this swap?
No as long as the threads aren't stretched. Run your fingers up and down the threads you should be able to feel it. Kind of like a hour glass. And make sure threads are clean and use thread sealer. Never have seen a blown head gasket on a 3800 most likely the upper intake is leaking into the intake ports of the engine.
Forget that previous answer. The 3.1 v6 in your Oldsmobile is part of the Buick v6 engine family. It is very similar to the other engines in the group. Some of these engine are used for performance applications, such as the 3800 v6. Some people have managed to swap out engines such as the 3100 or 3300 for the 3800 v6. this engine can be easily swapped in onto the existing engine mounts. If you…
