On 2000 - 2007 year model Frontiers, there are two phillips-headed bolts on each inside corner of the truck bed, behind the tailgate latches, that may be used to attach the brackets for the optional bed extender. If you have a bed liner installed, you will need to pull the corner of the liner back to expose the bolts. There are 2 plastic plugs that are holding it in at this point. Grasp the assembly at the top and bottom and pull firmly to the rear. Turn the bulb assembly counter clockwise to remove. The bulb will pull straight out. I suspect that as the vehicle gets older this plastic plug system will break. The female parts can be replaced as they screwed into the body. To reassemble a sharp rap with the heel of the hand will reseat the plugs
