I have a 98 escort and the door lock relay is behind the passenger side kick panel just in front of the door. Use a trim removal tool and remove the panel. The module is the one on top and can be pulled down off of a metal tab and unplugged accordingly. Replacing it is easy. Finding a replacement part is not. Also, i am unsure if your vehicle has keyless entry or not, but it may need to have the key fob reprogrammed if it is.
