disconnect the battery for 45 seconds . That will reset the system and allow the AUTO to light up and receive new gas. Once the refrigerant level is correct, that particular light should turn off, and the a/c system should begin to work properly. If not, you can always use a scanner from Autozone, Dicount, or O'Reilly's Auto parts to try to fix it. Hope that helps! Avoid system sealers and leak stop. These products are band-aids, not repairs. I had the same problem, Just disconnect the battery power for 8 seconds, this will reset the computer, then reconnect the battery this should get the message to erase and your AC should work. This worked for me on a 96 SLS. Adam Quiroz

When you add to it it will come on as soon as the pressure rises to the correct psi to trigger the switch, if you have a guage shoot for about 200 psi on the high side and it should be around 50 on the low. I recently replaced the compressor, drier, and temperature switch on my Isuzu and charged the system with the compressor off until the pressure level rose high enough to trigger the switch. It took quite a while to get the system up to full pressure ( several add attempts with wait time in the middle for system equalization ) every Tech I contacted told me dont do it, it wont work when I'm done but It works great and is the coldest air I have ever felt.
