is it a new column or used. if all the wires are connected check the ignition switch. not the ignition key part but the module
why? did your car was stolen and you replaced the factory steering column with a salvaged fire bird steering column now your car wont start or even turn over and the security light stays on why?

there is an actuator in the steering column that is broken. its a small aluminum piece that is common to break. taking apart a good portion of the steering column is necessary for replacement.
