Check to see if engine has fuel at carburetor and if it's getting spark at the spark plugs. If both fuel and spark are good then the problem could be with the timing settings or timing belt/chain is worn out/broken.
Start looking at fire and gas. Trace these two that are the main problems.
for this I would loosen the exhaust in front of the converter see if it will run . This was the problem with my 4 cyl s10. The convereter was clogged
click it over to the on spot but don't let it turn over (your letting the fuel pump fill that filter up) do it couple times then turn it over. and see if you set off the security light (it will flash if you did)
Probably the fuel pump.
limited info, but id say its a crank sensor. turns over slow and choppy this could be your problem. turns over normal could be lack of spark or fuel. by turning over, i mean motor cranking but not starting. without more info its anyones guess.
Check the Chevy S10s crankshaft position sensor. The sensor is located low on the engine, and the snow could have gotten the connection damp. The engine will not start when the sensor does not operate.
just do what i did and take out the tumblers that the key slides over.
Could be many things but the first one that comes to my mind is a fuel pump gone bad, not uncommon for GM.
security light on 1998 s10 start but cut off
I have the same problem I changed the fuel pump and the ignition coil also changed the igition module, still the same problem engine turns over but wont fire, still no spark and no fuel getting through, was wondering if theres a sensor that turns everything off?? 1991 s10 owner email tileguy@mail.com
it will be on one of the lower corners of the radiator. When you find it turn counter clockwise a few turns, then pull it out some and the water will start coming out.
Fuel spark, compression? I just put a brand new engine in my 98' s10 Blazer and First see if you are getting spark, if not could be a wire, maybe a voltage modular, also many cars, trucks, SUV's have a "anti theft" Radio/Cd player and if there is not one hooked up it won't start.
