I thought with the s-light on you put the car in sports mode from the button on the side of the gear shifter. I had this happen and actually had fun driving the car a bit faster than usual. just click on the button again to make the s-light come off.
Computer has placed the transmission in limp mode. Take it to a transmission professional as you have a serious problem.
The 1990 Honda Accord thermo fan relay switches can be found in the fuse box. The Thermo fan relay switch is will be at the bottom of the third column.
The transmission may need a flush and filter, or in my 92 accord I solved the problem merely by changing the transmissions computer.
Burnt valve, blown head gasket, hole in piston, severely worn compression rings.
According to the Owners manual, for a 2000 Accord LX, (2001?),page 84-86. You must have a garage door remote control! Press the desired key to use on the Honda panel and the remote key. The Honda panel red light will begin to flash slowly at first, then rapidly. The key code should now be learned by the Honda transmitter, and open/close the door. To expand on this you can hold the first and third buttons on the HomeLink transmitter for your car to erase any old codes that are stored in the transmitter. Hold the first and third buttons for at least thirty seconds, or until the LED light in the HomeLink symbol stops flashing and stays on solid. You can find out more for your particular model and year of car on the HomeLink website located here: http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf
It is Probable Ur Clutch Is Gone
The clutch throwout bearing/mechanism is malfunctioning. This isn't a job for a shadetree mechanic. Best to have it done professionally.
Honda Civic - third generation - was created in 1983.
It was sold in a different country. In the third-generation Accord "LX" means it has a carburetor and "LXI" means fuel injection. Fourth-generation Accords are all fuel injected, so they sold them as LX in some countries and LXI in others.
I have a 1992 Honda Accord Wagon and found all of these kinds of questions answered in the readily available Haynes manual for the regular HOnda Accord. There are two main fuse boxes - under the hood and one main one under the dash on the driver's side. There is actually a third one as well on the driver's side under the dash. It is necessary to have a manual in front of you to truly determine what each item means. Hope this helps. Gary
The base of distributor has three bolts, 2 have adjustment slides so just loosen them up the third must be removed to adjust timing, put back the third bolt when done. Good Job, you may email me ,,, mexgyver@aol.com
overheating 94 Honda accordFirst you should check if your radiator has water and coolant, if not just fill it up to the appropriate level. Second it may also be your cooling fan relay or sensor if your fans do not turn on. Third which might the most expensive, your radiator maybe needs to be replaced.
The transmission was not hooked up right... OR the motor was from ANOTHER Year/model of Honda and it came with the transmission from THAT Year/model. The replacement transmission does not have overdrive so it could not be hooked up electrically or otherwise -- so the light is always on AND the transmission model is only a "2 speed" instead of a "3 speed" transmission or the transmission is not hooked up correctly. Sorry can't be more specific.
