When the key is turn on there should be 12.5 volts on one wire (there are three wires). There is also a ground wire and a wire from the ECM for the transistor.
'Where is ignition coil 2 in a 1998 Nissan maxima'?
Yes, you can buy just one coil for a 99 maxima. In fact, I just did that at a local auto parts store. Some people have said in other forums that the coils sold by dealers are better because they have improved on the original design.
The diameter of the coil affects the amount of electricity as longer the coil longer the electricity.
Because you need to replace it.
Ignition coil 4 is the center coil (plug) on the bank closest to the radiator. FYI, #1 is passenger side, closest to firewall, #3 is center, firewall, #5 is driver's side firewall, etc. Good luck.
Standing in front of the car, it is on the bank of cylinders closest to the firewall and the one farthest to your right.
Unplug ignition coils one at a time until you find the one that doesn't effect the rpm's.That's the one that's bad.
under the coil
heater coil is good conductor of electricity
passenger side of intake manifold
A coil doesn't make electricity it can however alter voltage and amperage output.
A coil has to spin in a generator to produce electricity.
