I have found that male cats are much,much more loving,but are very inclined to stray. where as female cats can be a little bit uninterested in you,but do stray very often. but i would have to say get a male cat.

∙ 14y agoit would probably be better if you adopt a female cat .the male cats might not get along fighting for the female .but make sure you introduce them first, you don't want to bring a cat home not knowing if it'll adjust with the rest of the animals.
