Yes, you will be able to hear the turbo a lot better and it should lower your EGT.
It would depend on your state's emision laws. absolutley, you wont have any problems and if you keep the 3.5" pipe it wont hardly be any louder exept for more turbo scream and better response.
First, if you're not wanting to spend very much money, just straight pipe it. You can cut the pipe off up to the engine, then run 3.5 or 4 inch pipe out the rear end. It's a great and cheap way to make your truck smoke. Well, that's about it. :D
No you don't necessarily have to have it straight depending on the material if its bendy and u are able to get air through it
DPF Delete Pipe and No Cat is all it takes for a 7.3L to smoke. That's all it takes to make any diesel smoke up until the 2010 model year. Or run a straight pipe right out. I took all the emission systems out of my 7.3L stock muffler and it smoked.
A healthy 7.3L Powerstroke should run at around 23 p.s.i.
As a rule of thumb - 10 x pipe diameter upstream, 5 x pipe diameter downstream Isuru
NO
wrought pipe bends means straight pipe bend using rotary draw pipe bender. or pipe bend by any method
Powerstroke
Most places will not allow you to use a straight pipe. The catalytic converter is used to cut down on emissions which is against most government regulations and is a ticketable offence in Canada.
i think Ridgid 31005 8" Straight Pipe Wrench is best.
should not have a filler bolt should just fill straight thru the dipstick pipe on transmission
