need diagram for wiring for 1986 transam
The factory shop manuals have the wiring diagrams for everything in the 64 Impala. Carl King http://www.classiccarauto.com The only "wiring" to a trans in a 64 impala would be the neutral safety switch and the back up lights. it's not an electronic solenoid type transmission and the speedometer is a mechanical drive.
Help
Where can I find a wiring diagram for a Ford 1991 F250 pickup with 5.8 liter V8 and automatic transmission with overdrive?
If it is a stock model speedometer, there is no speedometer cable. there is a sensor on the transmission which transmits signals in a wire to the speedometer assembly, which is on your dashboard. If you have a problem check the speed sensor, or the wiring to it. JOEDI

Check VSS or wiring to it could cause fault .does speedometer work?
I had that in a vehicle i used to drive, and they had to replace the whole wiring system inside the transmission
There is a black fill plug on the very top of the transmission. It is below a wiring harness and an AC line (I Believe).
yes it well and all the wiring is the same
If you did not swap harnesses, you will need to do a pin out. Remove the wire and pins out of the old connector and put them into the manual connector. If the colors are not the same, use the wiring schamatic to find the wire that match.
Unplug the wiring connector, Remove the 10mm bolt and bracket. Now pull the senser out of the transmission. That's it.
Check the fuses, if fuses are okay, it is probably the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) or wiring to it at fault.
