yes, a 3.4 is a 3.4, you might have to swap the fuel injection unit on top of the engine to the alero's set-up so the alero's computer will work right.
what year and type of olds engine??
Quite a bit. Just with every engine brand swap, you are looking at engine mounts and frame mounts. The exhaust will not hook up one to the other. The Olds tranny will not bolt to the Chevy. The 307 didn't use a particularly large radiator, so a good 3 core for a decently built 350 would be minimum.
Will it fit...Yes. But it will take a little work. You'll need to change the engine/frame mounts. If it has an Olds engine now, you will be able to use the tranny. It'll bolt right up. The exhaust will not be a direct swap.
The answer is yes. It's a pretty simple swap. For more info go to: http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/oftrn.htm
Answervery...the engine and trans come out together through the bottom of the car with the sub-frame and control arms, then you separate the engine from trans and put back together, about 14 hours with the right tools and a liftIt was easy for me and my mechanic. We wanted to change the 3.8 series 2 engine with the LSS's supercharger 3.8 series 2 engine. A very excellent build.
E-bay, craigslist or a local swap meet, I'm not sure if yearone.com carries olds parts or not. year one carrys a few but not many
Is it an Olds engine? Olds never made a 305. Olds did produce a 307. However, once the Olds V8 went out of production, Chevy 305's were used instead of the Olds 307. If it's the Chevy engine, it will bolt right in with no modifications. If it's the Olds engine, you CAN put it in a Camaro, but you'll need an adapter plate for the bellhousing. Chances are the exhaust manifolds won't line up with the existing exhaust either, not to mention a bunch of other little tweaks that you will need to do to get the Olds engine in the Camaro, but yes, it's absolutely doable.
swap it with an olds bravada dash itll fit my friend did it on a 94
The swap isn't a direct swap. At the least you'll need to move the frame mounts. These cars came with multiple engine options throughout the years. So a lot of engines will bolt in without too much trouble. For sure the Chevy 350, the Olds 350, and since the Grand Prix came with a 301 Pontiac at one point, the Pontiac 350 should also fit. You'll just need to figure out where to move the frame mounts and get the correct engine mount. Depending on the engine chosen you may need to change transmissions also.
It will fit no problem as the holes in the frame for the mounts are there already. Take the mounts and the saddles for the mounts. Problem is the Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac and Buick bellhousings are the same while Chevrolet are different. So you'll need the Transmission also to complete the swap.
