Duct Tape You don't. You replace either the top or the bottom damaged piece or replace the entire filter. However if the leak is coming from an area that should have a gasket as in between the lid and the tank itself then the gasket may need replacing. Since you did not geve the location of the leak it is impossible to give you a credible answer.
