Angella D Ferguson was an african american woman. She was born with sickle cell anemia. She studied this disease for about 20 years and found that it can strike at bad times. When this disease strikes it is called a crisis. She found ways to prevent a crisis. She found that drinking lots of water helped prevent a crisis. And finally after 42 years in medical care-half of those in pediatrics-she retired.
